In How to Read Literature Like a Professor, Foster talks about different forms of irony. In Romeo and Juliet, one kind of nature of irony displayed was dramatic (tragic) irony. When Romeo found Juliet drugged on the ground, he proceeded to kill himself because he thought she was dead. Then, when Juliet finally woke up, finding Romeo dead, she ended it with killing herself as well.
